Egil Rasmussen (28 April 1903 - 18 June 1964) was a Norwegian author, literature critic and musician. Born in Bossekop village, Alta municipality, his family moved to Tromsø when Rasmussen was 3 years old, and he grew up there. Rasmussen worked for many years as a ''lektor''.〔The highest rank as a secondary student.〕 He received his Ph.D. in 1949. From 1948 to 1964 he was literary critic for the newspaper ''Aftenposten''. His first literary effort was at 20 years of age when he produced the novel ''Østen og vesten'' in 1923. His last novel, ''Den siste skrivekaren.
